Staging for live wedding music is just one of about a millionchores facing brides and grooms and wedding planners. Between flowers, photos, venues, dresses, showers, rings, video, and more, even a modest and quiet wedding requires a extraordinary amount of designing. It can be a trying time because if even one of these areas falls through the cracks, your big day can end up being a huge disappointment.

Here are five secrets to hiring live wedding instrumentalists for your ceremony and reception:

1. you rent a musician with a established track record of professionalism. Does the director return your calls promptly? Does the band have a web site? Business cards? Other marketing materials? Or do you get the feeling you’re speaking to a guy rehearsing in his garage with his pals? The way the band introduces itself as you begin speaking with them is a good indicator of how they’ll turn up (or not!) on your big day.

2. Promptness is important. When you set an meeting to meet face to face or on the phone, it’s like a mini-contract. If the band director is tardy to meet with you, it’s a discouraging sign that they don’t take their agreements earnestly. If they can’t arrive on time in the preparation stage, what other arrangements will they break with you on your wedding day? This carries on to you, likewise - being punctual is just one way you can live a life that shows that you abide by your commitments.

3. Make certain the dance band is easy-going rather than being a bunch of divas. By now you’ve probably heard a thousand Bridezilla jokes, even if you’re not demanding or over-the-top. Imagine renting the equal in craziness for your wedding band. The last thing you want on your wedding day is to have to wait on your musicians hand and foot, bringing them food and beverage, having the thermostat changed for them, or catering to other exacting needs. The best band for you is one that can take care of itself, one that’s easy to get along with, and one that does all it can to make sure your day is effortless and fun for you.

5. Book a wedding band that’s fun. Getting married is one of the deepest choices you’ll ever make. It’s important business. The music on your wedding day should be beautiful and fun. You don’t want to see your invitees yawning, trancelike, and wishing the party was through. You want them up, dancing, singing, and glad. If you pick out a live wedding music band well, your selection will do very much to make your wedding day unforgettable in a fabulous way. This is the big day you’ve been ready for, and music is such a important part of it. Make sure you hire a band that makes the day flawless - enjoyable for you and your invitees.

Party Balloons

There is no better way to celebrate that special day than by decorating with lots and lots of birthday balloons. They are a great way to celebrate anyone’s birthday, whether you are celebrating your fifth year or your fifty first. Adults love balloons just as much as kids, but there is no denying the fact that children go absolutely wild over them.

Any birthday party for a child that has lots of birthday balloons is pretty much guaranteed to be a hit. And did you know that you can use balloons as both party favors and party games as well? There are, for instance, balloons you can decorate - and not just with a few Magic Markers either, although that is certainly a great idea! No, there are balloons with stickers and other stick on features, so your child and all his or her guests can make their very own birthday balloon buddies! The fact that balloons come in every color imaginable certainly helps. You can let the kids pick out their favorite colors, so their new balloon friends will be perfectly suited to them.

Of course, if you decide to do that, a piece of advice: make sure the intended buddy balloons are full of helium! Helium filled birthday balloons are the tops! Balloons that you just feel with air should be relegated to decorations. For instance, clusters of balloons attached to the chairs, to light fixtures, ceiling hooks, banisters, et cetera, are just fine filled with air. But kids love helium. The more birthday balloons you have that the kids can later open up, the better. Sure, your house will be filled with a ton of kids that sound like chipmunks, but that means the party was a huge success! And really, you just cannot ask for more than that

How to Size Your Bets

Aggressive betting is the way to win in No-Limit online poker . To play aggressively, you should always enter a pot with a raise if you are first to bet instead of just calling. By raising pre-flop you will narrow the field of contenders and have a better chance of winning. If you can’t raise pre-flop, then throw the poker online hand away. How do you decide how much to raise? The key factor is your position. A online poker player who raises from early position pre-flop is advertising a good hand. A small raise, such as the three-bet, will likely cause marginal hands to fold. If your hand is quite strong, then the best case scenario is to get only one or two callers. However, from early position, it is always possible any of the players behind you could have a monster hand so keeping the bet size relatively small will eliminate most and give you information about your opponents for a small price. From late position, you can raise pre-flop with a broader range of hands. Basically you are announcing that your hand is better than the blinds behind you pre-flop and those that have limped in ahead of you. A raise from this position can be larger because it will cause most players to fold and any who do remain must act before you in ensuing rounds

Give the Tax Man His Due

Benjamin Franklin once said that there is nothing certain in life but death and taxes. This forum is not the place for an existential debate on the meaning of life, so I will stick firmly to the taxes. The tax man comes for all of us, whether we work a nine to five in a prefab cubicle or spend our days enjoying the free drinks at the poker card table. For poker players, it is easy to let the financial details of life slip our minds while we focus on the cards. It is easy to forget that there can be serious repercussion for ignoring federal law. Your financial obligations to the state have the distinct characteristic of never going away. They will haunt you year after year come April 15th. If you ignore your taxes, and refuse to pay on your poker winnings, you can face very serious repercussions. They can track you down years later when you think you have gotten away with successful evasion and charge you for years of back taxes. Poker winnings are taxable because they are a form of income that puts money in your pocket. And the tax man wants his fair cut of anything that goes into your wallet.

To Show a Bluff

One of the first players that I met when I first started playing poker was a guy who said that he always played completely honestly. Being new to poker, I was pretty nave-I actually believed him. From how poorly he did, he might have actually been telling the truth, but wither way, I learned a good lesson from him-playing honest is a great way to lose a poker game.

Even more, having poker online players think that your always honest isn’t always the best policy, either. Having players think that you never bluff is great when you don’t have the cards and need to steal a few pots here and there, but when you finally get some good cards, you don’t want everyone folding out of the hand.

The key to this is unpredictability. You’ve got to have people wondering what you’re up to. Obviously, when you win honestly, they’ll see the cards at the showdown, but show a bluff or two as the game goes on. Not every time you do it, but once or twice, just to keep your online poker opponents guessing.

That little bit of uncertainty is what’ll have them calling and raising you when you get that full boat you were waiting for.

Visit Aruba

Aruba - A vacationer’s paradise offers everything one looks for in a Caribbean vacation: pleasant weather, abundant sunshine, and excellent beaches with divi-divi trees swaying in the gentle breeze of the ocean. In addition, the hospitality of the people living there makes Aruba a happening place. So if the natives greet you saying “Bonbini” don’t be surprised, it just means “Welcome”

The nightlife in Aruba as most travelers confirm, is sizzling, and for those who would like to go for a spin at the tables, Aruba beckons. The exhilarating high of winning and the carnival-like ambiance at the casino provide an unforgettable excitement.

For those who prefer to relax with a drink and get a feel of the local culture, Charlie’s Bar is the place to be. In fact, reviews on the net say that no visit to San Nicholas would be complete without a stop at Charlie’s bar. Charlie’s Bar has been around since 1941 and is an institution of sorts. The shrimps served there are worth a try and can be downed with the local Balashi beer at the bar. One can also take home some interesting Charlie’s Bar Boozers memorabilia or the fiery Honeymoon Sauce which are on sale.

Those fond of dancing can shake a leg at a number of nightclubs and discos in Aruba. Cafe Bahia (Caribbean Grill and Disco Bar) and Copa Cabana Nite Club play some great music and keeps guests on their feet till the wee hours of the morning. A number of theaters in Aruba have live shows with agile dancers who enthrall guests with fantastic performances..

If you miss home or need a break after all the excitement of Aruba, you can check-out the latest Hollywood film playing on the big screen at the local drive-in or in a cinema. Popcorn, soda, and a relaxing evening and you are ready for another day in Aruba and Honeymoon sauce at Charlie’s Bar.

Ignore the Critics

Filed under: Gambling Luck, Internet Games, The Funny Farm — admin at 3:52 pm on Monday, June 1, 2009

Some online poker players think they know everything, and that they are the best player at any casino table. They can’t help criticizing other players’ style and action, pointing out every mistake made. These players, however good they might be, can be a real hassle to deal with when you’re in the action.

When online poker players become overly critical, even insulting, you can speak up and tell the offender you are not interested in any more advice. If the player continues to pick away at your play, ask the dealer to intervene on your behalf. Some wily players - and there are some noted poker stars among them - use criticism to put other players on tilt. You must learn to tune it out and deflect it. Do not engage in any interaction with the would-be assassin. Ignore the wisecracks and focus on playing your best game.

Of course, there are players who want to be helpful, especially to newcomers. They will discuss the reasoning behind a rule, or explain the options to a player who is confused. You might even learn something useful from these types. Perhaps you give off a tell you weren’t aware of, or tend to engage a predictable betting pattern.

Respect those who do want to be helpful and see what you can learn from them. Ignore the blowhards who think they know everything. More likely, they just want to put you on tilt and mess up your game.

Sacrifice to the Poker Gods

Filed under: Gambling Luck, Internet Games, The Funny Farm — admin at 11:18 am on Tuesday, February 24, 2009

Sacrifice to the poker gods. It may sound blasphemous, but there are times when it may be favorable to publicly lose a hand in poker. It hurts me to write this, but I’ve seen it happen, and it has worked for me personally, so I would be remiss if I didn’t share this information with you. When you play poker, you have to be aware that your opponents are watching your every move. If you don’t try to throw up a smokescreen every now and then, pretty soon they’ll know exactly what kind of player you are, and will be able to take your chips with ease.

If you’re a tight player like me and you don’t change up your style, then you will start to see your game get flat. On the rare occasions that you see a hand that is worth raising, your opponents will know that you’ve got something and will bow out of the hand. Few things are worse than having a full house and having no one to bet with. To prevent this, play rags every now and then. Place a small bet with high pair, or make a bad call that doesn’t cost you very much. If people see that you will play with garbage, than they’ll eventually think that it’s worth calling when you raise.

Shark versus Fish

Filed under: Gambling Luck, Internet Games, The Funny Farm — admin at 11:00 am on Tuesday, November 18, 2008

One of the most well known quotes in all of poker en ligne comes from the now legendary poker film Rounders, where Matt Damon’s character truthfully states: “If you can’t see the sucker at the table, you are the sucker.”

By and large, if you aren’t the poker player picking up on the plays of others, and knowing which ones are giving it away and which ones are raking it up, you might be the one who in the end is at the disadvantage.

In poker, the term ‘fish’ applies to these kinds of players, ones who are pretty much sitting ducks, waiting to give their money away. While a fish can get luck in the short term and take money from even the top pros, over a long enough duration, the fish will eventually give it all back. Fish is the poker equivalent of ‘novice,’ ‘newbie,’ or any other condescending term suggesting that you don’t have the skills you might need to win. If somebody is calling you a ‘fish,’ you probably either just sucked them out, or you are slowing down the game, as usually the more experienced players don’t want to ’scare the fish.’

The converse of the fish is the shark, who, as the image implies, is there to scoop up all the meat from the dead fishes and go home with the money.
