Mothers Feel Confidence despite Thinning Hair

Filed under: Beautiful You, Health Parlor, Self Improvement Hub — admin at 7:04 pm on Saturday, May 30, 2009

Comparing womens wigs on the Internet won’t feel like anything to dread. Take it from me, this middle class professional tolerating the tough luck of hair loss. I hold pride because only my dear friends know I tactfully wear a couple fantastic medical wigs that I value dearly. I just know you can regain joy in the natural style and feel of professionally constructed lace front wigs. Believe me, quality wigs appear quite natural for millions of women who depend on them.

There’s a good chance you have held the same concerns that I went through. “Will I look okay?” and “Will I be ashamed of it?” were my initial questions, most definitely. These knee jerk reactions are not stupid should you take the time to relax to understand how many great fitting possibilities are out there. Alopecia wigs, of real hair, grant ladies around the world with confidence. There’s little to worry about! Never seen a well done wig? That’s because most can’t distinguish the right wig apart from someone’s naturally growing hair.

Take a look at some wig selection tips a shopper may benefit from. Hands down the best wigs are lace front. They are roughly 300% more valuable when up against fake wigs–for many reasons. They are tremendously better on all counts! I strongly sing their praises. However, an alternative that’s easier on the wallet, imitation wigs can be a good option and worthy your deliberation.

Personally, I opt for the natural human hair wigs for a couple different traits. They last longer and you can dye them. Not to mention, my children are more comfortable with it.

Either way, do your homework to find a wig that does your image justice, so you’ll own the look you’ve earned in confidence. Regain your confidence, and even better, feel natural wearing it. As is the case for any accessory, your wig reflects who you are.

Sincerely,

A Tale of the Early Catered Chalet Holidays to Chamonix Mont Blanc France

Filed under: Life Of Travel, Recreation Tips — admin at 6:17 am on Thursday, May 28, 2009

1770 was when the 1st guest house was opened in Chamonix Mont Blanc. Before this date Chamonix ski resort constituted a uncivilized and tough rural hamlet where the populace hunted animals and produced their own cereals.

Farmhouses then were used to raise dairy cows during the spring and summer. The cows milk was preserved by turning it into cheeses and stored in the valley for consumption during the harsh wintertimes. During the winter season the barns were fastened, and valued possessions were locked in a small shed.

The person who devised the ski chalet holiday is obscured by time, however it was likely some spirited chaps who recognised a pattern that was novel. For Erna Low it began whilst she was a unhappy graduate who couldn’t visit her parents back home as much as she wished. Thus in 1931 she took a punt and placed a ad in the broadsheets to tempt punters on a skiing vacation. The cost was £15 and they travelled to and from the resort, had meals and lodging in the solitary chalet, and took ski gear and tuition. The trip was arduous work, there weren’t any chair lifts, no quick release fixings, merely hard leather shoes, however it was such a hit that Erna Low kept on taking people on vacations, guaranteeing she utilized fantastic lodges and instructors.

These ski trips in the formative years were very different from the standards we receive today. In the early days hot water was in limited supply, the bathrooms had to be shared by all of the punters, and there was no a chef; the guests had to help out. It was a complete lottery as to who might share the chalet for a vacation, you could be surprised to encounter brand new allies, or have an uncomfortable week amongst strangers.

Skiing holidays were later marketed on its new pluses. Your own chef, who would serve you cooked breakfast and a plentiful evening meal and baked you a cake.

Who Is the Safest NY LASIK Surgeon?

Filed under: Health Parlor, Medical Center, The Shoppers Way — admin at 2:54 pm on Wednesday, May 27, 2009

Dr. Chynn is the only operating surgeon, and Park Avenue Laser Vision
is the only center in NYC performing only 100% No-Cut, No-Flap All-Laser LASEK and epi-LASEK laser vision correction.

In addition, here are many categories and examples of unusual patients/situations
they can help with:

Amblyopia (Lazy Eye)

Traditionally, the treatment for amblyopia, or lazy eye
is to patch the good eye to force it to work and to straighten the bad eye
with muscle surgery, if it is crossed. Unfortunately, these methods, which
have been around for almost 100 years, do nothing to address the most common
cause of amblyopia which is lazy eye, or a difference in the prescription between the two eyes.

Dr. Chynn has successfully performed LASEK and epi-LASEK
(not LASIK)
on dozens of patients with a lazy eye, and in every case
the patient s uncorrected vision after surgery (meaning their vision
without glasses or contacts) is actually better than it was corrected
(with glasses or contacts) preoperatively going from 20/60 to 20/25!

These patients are among our happiest patients, as we didn t
just eliminate their contacts and glasses (like for a regular patient), but we
actually took an eye that they had given up on and made it a functional,
working eye!

Most patients with amblyopia whom we fixed report vastly
improved peripheral vision, and also say that their bad eye no longer
wanders when they are tired
and that they feel less of a strain on their
good eye
because they are using both eyes together for the first time in
their lives!

Even better, because you have a pre-existing medical
condition
, in most instances, your medical insurance will actually partially
pay for your laser procedure
because it is not purely cosmetic, but is
correcting a medical problem!

Extreme prescriptions: myopia, hyperopia, astigmatism:

We at Park Avenue Laser Vision are the ONLY center in NYC performing
100% No-Cut, No-Flap, All-Laser LASEK and epi-LASEK laser vision correction.

Therefore, by not cutting a flap, we save over 100 microns
of corneal tissue, which is actually enough to treat nearly -10.00 D! of myopia
in a standard ablation, and -7.00 D in a High-Definition Laser Vision
CorrectionTM !

Intelius: Connecting People with Information

Filed under: Biz, Commercial Stuff — admin at 9:17 am on Wednesday, May 27, 2009

Bureaucracy has a way of upending a virtually basic right to access public records. In a streak of entrepreneurial inspiration, businessman Naveen Jain quit his old job and proceeded to bring the people closer to information empowerment.

Out of a gaping void in information, Intelius, Inc. was born. Since then, Jain’s company has conceptualized and created more than a dozen information services for consumers and companies alike. The services deliver real-time information services to US-based individuals.

Ordinary consumers have much to benefit from Intelius’ services. Because it has access to address registries, Intelius can give out the addresses of a single person in the last twenty years — even his or her email addresses. From telephone directories, it obtains published telephone numbers not only at county level, but nationwide. From courthouses and the administrative office of the courts (AOC), it procures a list of the person’s crimes and offenses, if he or she had any. The types of information services Intellius offers do not stop there as the company has a massive information network, having bridged connections to almost any type of publicly accessible agency.

Information services that Intelius offers are largely indispensable in today’s burgeoning IT industry. For instance, HR professionals can utilize the data provided by Intelius to make informed hiring decisions.

Intelius’ innovations have not gone unnoticed. Intelius’ employee screening services are so innovative in the industry that both Workforce Management and HRO Today raising it to the pedestal in various reviews.

Employment screens aside, Intellius offers reverse phone lookups, reverse cell phone directories, people searches, marriage records confirmation, property and neighborhood reviews, criminal checks, date checks, tenancy screenings, social net lookups, and identity theft protection services. Any of these can help someone verify old and unearth new information about people.

Dare To Be Different: A Review of “A Different Light”

Filed under: Uncategorized — admin at 6:13 pm on Friday, May 22, 2009

I admire a book that is bold and imaginative — one where the only taboo is taboo itself. I admire a book like Elizabeth Lynn’s “A Different Light”, which is all of those things and more.

This isn’t my usual everyday taste in reading material. At 183 pages, it was a little slim for my liking; normally I prefer my books to be meatier, Stephen King-esque tomes.

Still, I bought it, in one of my half-crazed, fugue-like book buying sprees. I bought it, in fact, for the sole reason that I liked the multi-colored, cyclonic, interstellar cover. No more, no less.

At its core, “A Different Light” is a story about choice and courage, morality and mortality.

In a world where disease has virtually been conquered, where immortality is fact rather than fiction, Jimson Alleca has incurable cancer. At age 30, he is already contemplating his own death, while the lives of those around him are just beginning to blossom.

While facing his own mortality, Jimson, famed for his art, is growing stagnant, robbed of the choices and adventure that are an accepted part of life for the rest of the population. While cancer is killing his body, stagnation is killing his soul, and his art. Jim longs to see the stars, to renew his sense of wonder, to view the world in “A Different Light”.

After receiving a visicube, an image without words of his old friend, Russell, Jim decides that he does have a choice after all. Though it will come at great mental and physical discomfort, and will eventually shorten his already threatened life, Jim decides to venture off-world, and into “The Hype: — a place where pirates abound, a place many only dream about.

Above all, Jimson wants to find his old friend, Russell, known now to most as “Pirate”.

And what Jimson finds is beyond all imagination.

The world Elizabeth Lynn has created is a colorful, edgy world, populated with intriguing people and situations. Lynn takes us deep into the underbelly of this alien world, and nothing is taboo — not piracy, not homosexuality, not mortality.

Though perhaps a tad short on plot (what plot there is is thoroughly linear), “A Different Light” is full of imagination and heart. This is undoubtedly a character-driven novel, and Lynn’s characters are fully fleshed out, moving, talking, existing in three dimensions.

For such a slim book, Elizabeth Lynn’s “A Different Light” is a book of remarkable clarity and depth. This is a book that will engross your senses and your sensibility.

Life and Death… Elizabeth Lynn has chosen a daunting albeit age-old theme for her book. And Elizabeth Lynn does not flinch.

This is a book that has the potential to swallow you whole.

More than else, “A Different Light” by Elizabeth Lynn is a remarkably human novel. Characters who have never seen the light of earth’s sun — and we, the reader, along with them — learn just what it means to be human. To feel. To desire. To live. To die.

I have to admire a book like that.

Book Review - Marley and Me : Life and Love with the World’s Worst Dog

Filed under: Uncategorized — admin at 10:44 am on Friday, May 22, 2009

Looking for a heartwarming frolic through the life of a dog? John Grogan new bestselling book Marley & Me : Life and Love with the World’s Worst Dog delivers. This story of a young family making their way through life with the help of a neurotic dog will have you laughing out loud one moment, and then wiping a tear the next.

Maybe your thinking "I don’t like dogs… why would I want to read an entire book about one?" Let me confide with you: that is exactly what I thought when I picked Marley & Me off the shelf. I have never owned a dog, and don’t especially like my neighbor’s dog. I have no plans to ever own a pet dog… this book definitely served to solidify my determination never to own "man’s best friend".

However, whether or not you are a "dog person", there is still an awful lot to gain and enjoy while reading this book. The memories are so personal and heart-felt, at times you can completely forget Marley has anything to do with the book. But then he comes barreling back in the next paragraph, bringing humorous antics with every step.

The book starts with a young couple, John and Jenny, newly weds in Palm Beach, looking for some new challenge in life. They were deeply in love, with a great house, great careers, and not a care in the world. That lasts about 2 pages… that is until they bring Marley home. Little did they know that their lives would never be the same again.

As a ninety-seven pound Labrador retriever with more energy that an Alaskan oil rig, Marley’s entry into John and Jenny’s life is a whirlwind of disaster. Crashing through screen doors, destroying carpets, gouging drywall, eating jewelry are all in a day’s work for the pup. Yet through it all, the book points out the unconditional love Marley has for his family, and they have for him. Just as his ruinous powers appear endless, his love and loyalty know no bounds.

In this book John Grogan takes us along to some of Marley’s craziest adventures. The story of Marley being thrown out of obedience school is hilarious, mostly because of the hard nosed dog trainer who eventually has her pride fed to her by Marley in a silver doggy bowl. When Marley is cast in a local film production as the "typical family dog", we all cringe at what damage this dog can do. Sure enough, after a full day of filming a 15 second clip, the only thing Marley has accomplished is destroying the set and chewing through his leash.

One of the most memorable stories is that of the Grogan family going out on the town for a family dinner. With Marley in toe, they decide the Florida weather justifies eating outside on the patio of a ritzy restaurant. Marley is secured to the cast iron dining table, and drinks are served. However, when Marley spots another dog strutting down the road, he charges after, dragging the metal table with him, and clearing a wake several yards across. Needless to say, the family didn’t take Marley out on too many family dinners there after.

A big part of Marley & Me : Life and Love with the World’s Worst Dog actually has very little to do with the big animal. The book reads like a well written journal, describing the new couples excitement over their first pregnancy, and heartbreak over the subsequent miscarriage. John overcomes deep-rooted family concerns, while Jenny copes with serious depression. While the book is primarily a comical, laugh-a-minute adventure, it is definitely not without its sober moments. However, these honest and intent pages give Marley & Me the sole it needs to rise above other light-hearted tales.

Overall, Marley & Me : Life and Love with the World’s Worst Dog is an excellent book that can be enjoyed by all sorts of people (even cat lovers). The stories are funny and meaningful, the drama is heartwarming and sincere, and the dog is a complete mess. In the end, Marley reminds us all that life should be lived to its fullest, that we should love people unconditionally, and that shredded upholstery is a small price to pay for a life-long friend.

Jeff Beck was born into this world naked and helpless… and it all went down hill from there. He is an entrepreneur and founder of several notable companies, including the Book Price Comparison website CompareBook.com.

Review: Sand Of The Arena Authored by James Duffy

Filed under: Uncategorized — admin at 10:29 am on Friday, May 22, 2009

Author: James Duffy
ISBN: 1590131118

It is obvious from reading Sand Of The Arena that author James Duffy has an abiding and deep interest in the history of the gladiators and of the Roman Empire. To his credit, he has no doubt devoted countless hours in researching his debut novel, as poignantly illustrated in the many detailed scenes depicting the lives of the gladiators that dispel many of our aged-old preconceptions.

Drawing us into the era of Nero between the years 63-67AD, Sand Of The Arena revolves around Quintus Honorius Romanus son of Caicas and Politla. Although, Quintus is living a privileged life, all is not as rosy as it should be in the Romanus household, where a jealous slave, Lucius Calidus, barely hides his disdain and hatred for his master, and whom he considers “a spoiled rich kid.”

The family together with their slaves embark on a voyage to Britannia, where they are to meet with Quintus’s uncle and aunt, Sextus and Julia, and where Lucius is to be left behind. On the way to Britannia the ship capsizes and claims the lives of everyone on board with the exception of Quintus, his bodyguard Aulus, who had taught him many techniques of the art of gladiator fighting, and Lucius. Unfortunately, Aulus was badly injured and Lucius decides to kill him. Subsequently, as Quintus is not in the best of shape, Lucius steals the latter’s tunic and begins the charade of passing himself off as his master. The two are picked up by some fishermen and eventually make their way to the household of Sextus and Julia, where Lucius succeeds in convincing the couple that he in fact is their nephew and not Quintus, whom he ridicules. Consequently, the roles of Quintus and Lucius are now reversed in that the master becomes the slave, while the slave becomes the master. The ensuing lives of Quintus and Lucius are effectively contrasted- one based on brains, as well as bronze, while the other on deceit, greed and manipulation.

Sand Of The Arena displays all the hallmarks of excellent historical fiction with impeccable and affecting background, where events and scenes grip the reader’s imagination with many a heart pounding moment. The narrative voice shows a strong cinematic influence, as the author in the past has provided creative development, writing and production services for television documentaries cable networks, government agencies, and interactive multimedia projects.

Many of use create a close relationship with our pet, enjoying the unconditional love they always show us, even when we’ve had a bad day and snapped at them. So if you’ve been lucky to have a special pet in your life, it’s a great idea to use a pet urn as a treasured memento of their life. You can arrange to have your dog, cat or any other pet cremated, and then place their ashes in a pet urn as a treasured keepsake.

Pet urns are available in a huge variety of styles, with different shapes, colors and sizes. Probably the best place to begin is to decide how much you can afford to pay for a pet urn. Then you’ll be able to stick to looking at urns you can afford, without getting carried away. The cheapest urns are usually the simpler, more basic urns, and the more decoration and personalized touches you add, the more expensive they get. Perhaps you could pick a pet urn with space to put some photos of your pet, or a burial urn that you can bury in the garden that comes with a marker for placing in the ground above the urn. You can even get pet urns shaped like rocks or garden ornaments if you need to place the urn in your garden, but don’t need to bury it in case you move house.
