Tips for Saving Money on Car Insurance

Filed under: Uncategorized — admin at 5:25 pm on Tuesday, March 31, 2009

Car insurance is required by all licensed drivers but many of them don’t know how to find the best rates available. Being complacent and purchasing car insurance without carefully investigating your options or maintaining the same car insurance for the remainder of your life could mean that you are paying too much for your car insurance. Comparison shopping, ensuring that you are receiving all the discounts you qualify for and maintaining a clean driving record are just a few of the money saving tips that can save you a fortune on car insurance.

Comparison shopping for car insurance, even after you are already insured, cannot be underestimated. It is critical that you investigate all of your options before choosing an insurance provider to ensure that you are getting the best possible rate on your car insurance. There are so many factors considered in car insurance policies such as where you live, your driving record, your age and the type of car you drive just to name a few. With all of these factors to consider, it is very possible that you will find that there is a car insurance provider who will offer you a considerably lower rate than other providers.

Even after you have secured insurance for your car, it is wise to periodically check the rates that other providers will offer you. Car insurance as well as your circumstances are perpetually changing and you may find that the provider who is willing to offer you the best car insurance rate varies periodically. Many car insurance providers offer a host of discounts to their clients who qualify for these discounts. These discounts can relate to your driving record, safety features of your car, your age or other factors.

These discounts can result in a tremendous cost savings on your car insurance policy but while many insurance providers offer these discounts, they don’t always advertise them. This means that you may have to do research to determine what type of discounts you may qualify to receive. Carefully, review your car insurance policy to determine which discounts you are already receiving and then contact your car insurance provider to inquire about other discounts that may be available. For example if your driving record is devoid of accidents or tickets, you may qualify for a good driver discount.

Also, if your car has certain safety features such as daytime running lights, you may also qualify for car insurance discounts. Your age can also qualify you for certain car insurance discounts. Some insurance providers also offer discounts to those who insure their house with the same company as they insure their car. Taking advantage of this type of discount can save you money on both your car and home insurance. Being aware of the discounts that are available and ensuring that you are receiving these discounts, can save you a great deal of money on your car insurance.

Finally, maintaining a clean driving record is very important to receiving the best available car insurance rate. While it is true that each car insurance provider is unique in the factors that contribute to lower rates, the one factor that is consistent among all providers of car insurance is that a clean driving record is critical to your rate. Although accidents are sometimes unavoidable, it is imperative that you adhere to all traffic regulations and that you drive safely at all times. This will reduce the number of traffic violations that you incur as well as the number of accidents that you cause. Following these tips will help you to maintain a clean driving record that will keep the cost of your car insurance low.

Many drivers lament paying their monthly car insurance bill because they feel as though the insurance isn’t necessary. Although car insurance is a financial burden that seems superfluous, it does pay off if you are ever in a serious car accident that has significant financial ramifications. For this reason, you should never consider allowing your car insurance to lapse and it is recommended that you search diligently to find the best available rate on your car insurance.

An Account of the Very First Luxury Chalet Trips to Chamonix Haute Savoie

Filed under: Life Of Travel, Recreation Tips — admin at 5:08 am on Monday, March 30, 2009

It was 1770 when the 1st tourist accommodation was opened in Chamonix. Before this date Chamonix village constituted a uncivilized and tough farming hamlet where people captured their animals and grew their wheat.

Barns then were used to farm dairy cows during the spring and summer. Their milk was kept by transforming it into cheese and butter and kept in the village for eating during the bleak winters. During the snow season the farmhouses were barred, and valuables were secured in a small mazot.

Quite who came up with the chalet holiday is obscured by time, it was probably a few keen people who recognised a idea which worked. For Erna Low it began whilst she was a unhappy postgraduate and could not see her folks back home as much as she would like to. And so in the early 1930’s she took a punt and took out a advertisement in the papers to ask guests on a skiing break. For only £15 they traveled to and from the town, enjoyed dinner and lodging in the sole hotel, and paid for ski gear and lessons. Holidays were arduous , there weren’t any chair lifts, no safety bindings, simply leather shoes, it was so popular that Erna carried on taking friends on vacations, seeing to it that she sourced excellent chalets and skiing guides.

These ski breaks in the formative years were very different from the luxury ski chalets we get today. In the early days hot water was in short supply, bathrooms had to be used with all of the guests, and there was no a chef; the punters were expected to muck in. No one knew who might share the chalet for a trip, you may be pleasantly surprised to meet new skiers, or have an uncomfortable week amongst strangers.

The chalet holiday was later on publicized on its other bonuses. A cook, who served you cooked breakfast and a plentiful evening meal and provided you cakes, numerous bathrooms warm water for washing.

Do I Really Need Renters Insurance?

Filed under: Uncategorized — admin at 2:10 pm on Sunday, March 29, 2009

A Renters Insurance Policy is an inexpensive way to protect your personal belongings and your personal liability. Your belongings are protected against fire and theft, and they are covered anywhere in the world.

Say you went out to dinner and left your expensive leather jacket in the car. When you got back from dinner you discovered that someone had broken into your car and stolen your leather jacket. Not to worry. You are covered, minus your deductible. It is advisable to carry a small deductible because the differences in premium for the different deductible options are generally small, and small losses would be covered.

So how much coverage should you purchase? Everybody is different so coverage varies person to person. The big question is how much is all your “stuff” worth? You don’t want to overinsure, but you shouldn’t underinsure either. First look at your big ticket items: your furniture - the bedroom set, the dining room and the living room. Home entertainment may be another expensive item: your tv, your stereo, your vcr, your dvd player. How much did all your dvds cost? Your cds? Your tapes? Your records? (Come on, I still have mine!) Your computer - hardware and software? Cameras? Sports equipment - golf clubs, skis, bicycles, firearms. And don’t forget your clothes. If your apartment burns down, you will be starting from scratch. Do you have lots of expensive suits, or are you a casual jeans person? Don’t sell yourself short - a pair of Levis is not cheap! And don’t forget your underwear. Are your drawers full of Victoria’s Secret items, or do you just get the department store stuff?

The more documentation you have in the case of a loss the better. The insurance company is not going to nickel and dime you, but they are not going to give you carte blanche either. You really should have some kind of inventory list. Model names and serial numbers are especially helpful. Pictures and video tapes help as well. Tape an entire room focusing on individual items. Duplicate your lists or tapes and store them in a separate location - your safety deposit box, your friend or relative across town. I suggest you look into a replacement cost endorsement. For a modest extra premium, in the case of a loss, your items won’t be depreciated - they will be replaced at today’s cost.

Another benefit of having a renters policy is that it may make your car insurance cheaper. Many insurance companies will give you a discount if you have multiple types of insurance policies with them. Many landlords also require their tenants to have a renters liability policy.

In summation, a Renters Insurance Policy provides coverage for your personal belongings anywhere in the world. It gives you personal liability coverage and it may make your other insurance less expensive. Consult your insurance agent about how much coverage you need.

What is a True Master?

Filed under: School of Martial Arts — admin at 3:41 am on Friday, March 27, 2009

It is my belief that a True Master isn’t found by an achievement of a rank but instead a fulfillment of the mind and body. “Yeah” another philosophy hippy mind and body guy, NO WRONG. I actually hate them people, mostly because they talk about feelings as if they have truly felt it or have been touched, “Ha”. How can you talk about war if you never been in one or seen it close up? How can you talk about raising kids if you don’t have your own? NO, I am a Martial Artist. I have been studying Kenpo and Chin-na’ for 24 years, but it is not my rank for why I write this, it is due to an epiphany I had years ago and have been teaching ever since. Others have had it and hopefully you will realize it to and take that step to becoming a true Master.

In the United States to be called a Master in most styles you have to achieve the rank of 5th degree Black Belt or in other styles an 8th degree. In other countries they might not approve the promotion to master until 10th or 12th degree. Some people just call themselves a Master with no regard to rank. Why? What’s a degree? When you’re on the street does your attacker care if you’re a 1st or an 8th, NO I don’t think so. I don’t even think they stop to ask.

A True Master is one that can react to an aggressor in the most moral and effective way possible in any given situation. They have complete control of the situation before it even becomes a situation. You will never know if you are a true master unless you have been tested in the real world. You will never know if your instinctive ability to react properly in defending yourself will be effective enough. I know every situation is different and therefore every outcome could be different, but you will never know until it happens. A true Master doesn’t have to fight his way through life, he can walk silently then explode if needed.

I have worked in Bars - Night clubs and hung out with the wrong crowd longer than I needed to and during that time I realized what works and what is for show. Most importantly I realized that when I had to fight, I reacted with out thought, with precision strikes and moved fluently like it was written in a book some where. It actually amazed me at first. I was happy but scared at the same time. As time went on the more encounters I had the more fluent and predictable the situation became until I realized what would happen before it happened. Around that same time in my life I was watching a show with Bruce Lee on it, where some one asked him about his skill and experience (mastery). His response was that he is like water. He can take on any form that he is put in to a jar, a pitcher, a cup and in the end he is still the same. At first I didn’t get it but then it hit me. He meant he could adapt to any situation perfectly, like water poring over rocks he will find the most effective way to achieve his out come.

That is a True Master. One, who through true life experiences can say with their heart, that their mind is with out doubt when reacting in any given situation and that their body can fluently move effectively striking or controlling any aggressor in any situation. A master doesn’t stand behind his belt but wears it with pride knowing the power of confidence that his mind and body emulate. Like an awaking of sorts a new glow becomes a master that truly understands what they can do and offer to the world. A feeling of great completion and personal peace is invoked by the understanding of your ability as a master. To quote what Bruce Lee said when he was asked: What does it feel like to be you? He said, “I have this great creative and spiritual force within me. Greater than truth, greater than ambition, greater than confidence, greater than determination, more than vision. It is all these combined and there is no feeling on which these experiences can be compared.” Yeah its like that. That is my belief of what a True Master is. Thank You

Extra Terrestrial Life; What Will Their Intentions Be?

Filed under: Video Tips + More — admin at 12:59 pm on Wednesday, March 18, 2009

Here on Earth humans are supposedly considered; mostly harmless. Generally more dangerous to themselves than to any species outside the solar system and indeed such comments from Sci Fi authors is fun to contemplate. However, recently this conversation became a little more serious in a most unusually place; an online think tank forum when a think tanker member asked a rather interesting question:

“What will their intentions and life mission consist of?”

Hopefully more than the usual; that is to say; “be born, procreate and die.” And indeed perhaps the “higher order” or “higher being” question will be answered although, the answer should already be readily apparent to anyone giving it any real amount of thought. One think tanker seemed to think that there was no life other than what is on Earth quoting some Biblical Scriptures. Yet, this was countered by another think tanker who said;

“Your comments on religion are interesting and perhaps this is for the most part the final period, that is to say the present period is the winding down of human religions, which have slowed the forward progression of the human species? Hard to say, since the fundamentalists seem to control vast numbers of human civilizations; Too bad really.”

Do you believe that there is Extra Terrestrial Life? Yes, reader of this article I am talking to you. And if so; what do you think will be their intentions? Have you ever considered this? If not, perhaps you might wish to discuss such things? Either way, please consider all this in 2006.

How To Stop Spam

Filed under: Net Tips — admin at 9:33 am on Monday, March 16, 2009

I imagine you have seen, heard about, or already know what spam is. But just in case you don’t, it is unsolicited and unwanted emails that arrive in your email inbox from a person or company that you don’t know.

What you might not know, however, is that now there is a law in the USA designed to protect you from specific types of spam - yes, there is more than one type of spam — the variety and methods used are shocking.

The Federal Trade Commission (FTC) has created a law called The CAN-SPAM Act of 2003 to pursue, fine, and prosecute blatant and persistent “spammers”.

Furthermore, the Department of Justice (DOJ) works actively to shutdown or fine offending web sites or emailers by enforcing this relatively new anti-spam law.

Unfortunately, the sheer volume and different types of spam require … …you, the reader, to have available in your hands, a proven solution for defending yourself and your computer from the onslaught of spam email. You might be asking yourself: But, Gary, how can I defend myself when there is so much spam everyday?”

Well, I’m glad you asked.

The solution that I am talking about is new, really works, and is called …

…Internet Self Defense: How to Protect Yourself While On The Internet.

This well-written and information-filled handbook provides no nonsense solutions that you can implement immediately to solve not only problems with spam but also problems that concern …

…”Phishing” Scams,

  • Clone web sites

…Online Transaction Security,

…Spam,

  • Pop-up spam

  • Deceptive spam

  • Email address harvesting spam

  • Free “anti-email” software

…Doing Business Online,

…”Spyware”,

…Security Products, and

  • What they do

  • Where to find them

…Internet Fraud.

Plus this book shows “real” examples of the

…Department Of Justice Response, and “how to”

…File Complaints.

If you want to quickly and permanently stop these “Internet Bad Guys”, then you need to get your personal copy of this unique handbook at an incredibly low introductory price - but only for a limited time. Ask Questions - Save Money

Filed under: Uncategorized — admin at 12:35 pm on Wednesday, March 11, 2009

I’ve been waiting for this call for a year or so. It’s the one from a credit card company offering me insurance that will pay my minimum monthly balance if I become disabled or pay up to a certain amount of my balance if I die.

I’ve been waiting for it because I remember it being very expensive but I hadn’t written the details down so I wasn’t able to share it.

Here’s what I was offered: For $0.89 per $100 of average daily monthly balance the credit the insurance would pay my minimum balance if I become disabled or would pay up to $10,000 if I died. The pitch was very convincing and presented in a way that sounds like it’s a great deal.

Here’s what I asked:

1. For an example of the cost and benefit. I was told if I used my credit card for an average of $300 per month I would pay only $2.69 per month for this benefit.

2. The person would not comment on the amount of the monthly payment I would be required to make on the $300 balance, rather he reminded me of what would happen if I couldn’t make the payment. The minimum payment on a $300 balance is about $10.

3. I asked how disabled I would have to be and how long the benefit would pay for. I was told that if I injured myself at home or at work or in an accident the benefit would be paid.

4. I asked where I could read more and I was offered a 30 day free trial so I could review all the material and after that they would just charge my credit card.

5. I said NO - NOT NOW - NOT EVER - Thank you very much.
Why? Besides the fact that in my financial planning, I have adequate personal life, disability and critical illness insurance, I can do the math and see that my monthly cost for a very small benefit would be much more than the cost of my complete personally tailored benefits that I can know exactly under what conditions the benefit would pay - before I signed up.

Lessons Learned? Ask for details. Do some calculations. Sleep on it if you have to. Know what you’d be getting, and why? And, consider what else you already have in place.

Would this type of insurance ever be a good deal? Good question? I think the only time that individual product creditor plans like this one described above might make sense are when someone is otherwise completely uninsurable, and even then, the cost of the benefits still needs to be weighed against other types of risk management.

This type of product creditor insurance is a great place to find some extra cash and perhaps even a place you could review using the templates in the MoneyMinding Method e-course to find out if there was an opportunity to put the money towards something more concrete, beneficial, positive.

Check your statements - maybe you’ve got some opportunities you weren’t even aware of, and… in the meantime - stop before you say yes!

This article is not intended as personal financial advice. Each situation is different. Check with your personal financial advisor.
